The first Great Houston HUST Alumni Associaiton Steering Meeting was held on Sunday, April 20, 2003 at the Chinese Civic Center.

This meeting was called by Ms. Jiahuang JI and Mr. Yongjun CHEN.

Attendees included: Jiahuang JI, Yongjun CHEN, Qingyi WEI, Yidao CAI, Peiheng ZHU, Jiahua YANG, Shaohua HU and Miaomou CHEN (absent).

The meeting decided to found the "Great Houston HUST Alumni Association" or in Chinese "Da Xiu Shi Dun Hua Zhong Ke Ji Da Xue Xiao You Hui". The first member-gathering meeting was preliminarily scheduled on Saturday May 31, 2003.
