HUST Souther California Alumni 2011 Spring Festival Celebration
HUST Alumni Association of Southern California (HUSTAASC) was founded in Irvine, California on April 6, 2002. It is the 18th officially established alumni association of HuaZhong University of Science and Technology. It is the first alumni association of HUST that brings all alumni together from four former universities, HuaGong, TongJi, ChengJian, and ZhiDa. This historic move was based on the conversations between Dr. FU TianXiong “Tim” and Dr. HUKeQin. Prior to the establishment of HUSTAASC, a lot of HUSTers were actively involved in various activities among alumni in Southern California. Besides those who are still living in Southern California, Dr. ZHONG QinHui ”Johnny” (in Northern California now) and Dr. CHEN Gang (with MIT now) deserve a special thank-you from all of us for all the effort they put in this community.The objectives of HUSTAASC are to strengthen connections among HUST alumni in Southern California; to provide necessary support to HUSTAASC members and their families and friends who have a hardship or causality; to promote a close connection with HUST and other HUST alumni associations and organizations; to maintain or establish cooperative relationships with local communities, governments, and other groups; to provide a central place for HUSTers and their friends to exchange information, share happiness and have fun activities.Besides this web site, there is an E-group with Yahoo named HUSTSCAL for all HUST alumni members in Southern California. All the information, announcements, notices of HUSTAASC are distributed through the email list with HUSTSCAL group though some important information will be posted here. You can subscribe to the list through Yahoo or by sending an email to hustscal@gmail.com. If you have ever worked, studied, or lived in HUST. Please also feel free to write your questions, suggestions about this organization to hustscal@gmail.comwhich is regularly monitored by the current executive team.
