[Houston] 2007 Annual Meeting and Picnic a success

Dear HUSTAA members,

Thank you for coming to our Annual meeting and picnic Sunday at Memorial Park. We believe that you all had a good time. The weather was so nice, a perfect day for such an activity.

It has been two years since we last hold the annual meeting. We planned one in April but was blown away by a sudden snow storm. During this time, our president, Dongfang Wang, who has been very active since the founding of HUSTAA and who contributed greatly to our alumni organization, left Houston for a new position in Kentucky.

This year we had over 10 new and young faces, and in particular several coming from Texas A&M University! Everybody is delighted to meet new friends. Welcome, new members, and also congratulations to the new board members!

We are honored to have Consul Zha Weiping and UACA President Qiao Fengxiang attending our annual meeting and we thank them for their support.

Perhaps the most memorable thing was the pumpkin carving contest. The kids are so happy! The pumpkin are so cute! We strongly suggest you taking a look of the pictures of the pumpkin and other activities: http://www.hust.org/houston/

We would like to thank everybody who contributed towards the success of the meeting. In particular, we would like to thank Liu Hong and her group (Yongjian, Gong Wei/Guo yan, Yu Jing/Audry, Zhang Yiming/Jianmin, Peng Jing, Zhuang Zhongjiang/Wejing, Yang Jiahua) for preparing food, Yongjun and Jiahuang for preparing the meeting programs and notices, Peng Jing for contacting the media, Xiaomei and her group (Di Weijing and Guo Yan) for registration and financial, Yiming Zhang couple for preparing the pumpkin contest and also food, and many of you who helped at the park.

For those of you paid for food and drinks or others, please contact Xiaomei or Yidao for reimbursement.
